Wild Kea Lodge Franz Josef offers a modern accommodation across three wings in the Franz Josef Glacier Village, just a10-minute drive from Franz Josef Glacier and 30-40 minutes for Fox Glacier. This 'hostel' is newly finished with a comfy room, clean shared bathrooms (loo and shower in one room plus single loo and single shower room). Espresso machine in the dining room, free of charge, and spacious kitchen prep area plus large dining area. Floral art work to brighten the halls. Warm scones offered on arrival. Probably the best hostel we've ever stayed in and reasonably priced compared to other hostels. Right off the main road. Just a few minutes walk to the local grocery shop.

Everything, my room was fantastic, had everything I needed, was nice and quiet, felt like I was the only one in the building at points but I wasn't, the kitchen had some complimentary things for people but my room had everything I needed so I only ventured out for the bathroom and laundry

Kanuka Ridge Lodge ligger i Marahau, en kort køretur fra stranden, caféerne, restauranterne og begyndelsen af nationalparken Abel Tasman. Der er gratis ubegrænset wi-fi og privat parkering. The owner was super friendly and great to chat to, a really funny guy. The accommodation was clean and the veranda was lovely. There were loads of birds in the bushes. The veranda is shared but the people next to us weren’t a bother at all. Because there are only 8 cabins everything is really relaxed and quiet which is really nice. It is also only a short drive down to Marahau.

The owners are very kind and helpful, they explained everything and the place had everything I needed. WiFi was good as well, which was a plus considering how remote the place is.

Rooms, bathrooms, and all facilities were exceptionally clean and well supplied. There was a sink, toaster, and tea kettle in our room along with tea, coffee and cocoa. Milk was provided. In addition to the Spotless rooms … I cannot give a high enough rating for Craig’s cooking. Our meal was one of the best anywhere we’ve eaten in NZ. All fresh veggies from garden. Salad had little blue edible flowers! Not only beautiful, but tasty huge portions!
