We stayed here the night before and after walking the Hump Ridge Track. Last Light Lodge worked seamlessly and actually enhanced this fabulous walk. Food was outstanding. Violaine and Craig have created an incredible offering, with an abundant garden supplying the kitchen they create generous delicious meals that were an absolute highlight of our holiday. Rooms at the LLL are very well appointed - comfortable beds, quality linen, immaculately clean with big windows looking out on gardens and Birdlife. Shared bathrooms are modern, clean and convenient with plenty of hot water and great showers - so important post hike! Finally, we couldn't fault the friendly service. Nothing was too much trouble. Great communication. Did I mention the packed lunches?? - don't miss them, or the breakfast! Really can't speak more highly of the Last Light Lodge.

Barnyard Backpackers Te Anau offers accommodation on spacious grounds with spectacular mountain views. Free WiFi and private on site parking is available. We had the family room and it was enormous. There was an absolutely beautiful view over the mountains. The kitchen area was separate from the sleeping cabins which made for an extremely peaceful night.

Set in park-like grounds on the shores of Lake Te Anau, 5 minutes' walk from the town centre, Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers has both mountain and lake views from the majority of the rooms. Loved the room and the decor. Very clean and modern. The layout was cute and it meant the the private rooms only shared a kitchen with 2 other rooms. The staff were friendly and it seemed like there were lots of facilities like bbq and washing. We only stayed for 1 night so can’t comment on too much but it seemed very comfortable.

Even the connubial areas were spotless!! Friendly staff and great facilities. The rooms were warm and there was a great fire in the communal area.

Very nice accommodation quite close to the departure point for doubtful sound cruise. The rooms were clean and facilities were good. The WiFi worked very well also.

Had everything our evening needed good BBQ and kitchen ready to cook anything you wanted to bring plates utensils and cooling oil! Perfect hot shower. All the facilities worked as they should. A very cozy, retro property that has plenty of charm. We really enjoyed our stay here, and Nathan was extremely friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this place.
