Barnyard Backpackers Te Anau offers accommodation on spacious grounds with spectacular mountain views. Free WiFi and private on site parking is available. We loved the Barnyard! This place is a peaceful haven, surrounded by deers and scenic views. The room was large and comfortable, hot shower excellent, the common areas inclusive of kitchen spacious and cosy. And Nina was a lovely host. We loved our 4 nights there and wished we could stay longer. Will definitely return!

Set in park-like grounds on the shores of Lake Te Anau, 5 minutes' walk from the town centre, Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers has both mountain and lake views from the majority of the rooms. We were a group of 3 using a quad room before a hike. This was perfect for us. There were plugs to charge devices by each bed. There was a good kitchen. Nice atmosphere - everyone I think we met was going for a hike.

The hostel had a really cosy vibe, with a big lounge area and big kitchen. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The dorm rooms had lockers and it was possible to have electronics charging inside them. The bathrooms were clean. Location was amazing, very close to the lake front and only a short walk from the supermarket.

It is so clean and comfy, surrounded by nature, and the check-in was easy, even late at night. I definitely want to visit again!

All the facilities worked as they should. A very cozy, retro property that has plenty of charm. We really enjoyed our stay here, and Nathan was extremely friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this place.
