Very nice hostel right in the small and cute Hahei town, walking distance to the stunning Hahei beach, and great to start from to hike to Cathedral Cove (just 40 min). Very nice wooden room with super comfortable bed and bed linen, clean shared bathroom, spacious and welcoming shared kitchen and living room. Very convenient parking right in front of the room. Possibility to do laundry but you’ll need NDZ cash. The staff is really nice and helpful too. I loved the birds in the morning! Will stay here again next time!

Backpackers Central Hamilton offers accommodation in the centre of Hamilton, less than 5 minutes' walk from local shops, restaurants and cafes. Free WiFi and free lockers are provided. This hostel is really great, everything is new and clean and the prices are very affordable. I don't get why it got so many bad reviews in the past, but maybe that was under a different management. My bed was clean, the kitchen was great and fully equipped. And it's safe. There can be some strange people in the area (outside) but that is honestly an issue in every bigger city in NZ.
