The proprietor and his family made every effort to make us feel welcome, from early communication before the arrival to the greeting upon arrival, to serving us a home-cooked meals for dinner, sharing stories of family life around the canyon, and giving advice on the hikes and making coffee in the morning. The room was basic yet nice for a guest house. The start of the famous balcony walk (trail W6) along the edge of the canyon is just a few steps down the road from the hotel. The views from the property at dusk and sunrise are simply spectacular. The last few km of the road to the guest house are a potholed dirt track - while arriving quite dusted, this added to the cool experience of seeing arguably one of the nicest places in Oman. The guest house is great value for money.
