Located around 500 metres from Haad Rin Nai Beach, the hostel with free WiFi is also 15 km away from Phaeng Waterfall. Some rooms at the property have a patio with a sea view. Truly a “social hostel” in the best way—this was the best vibe of any hostel I’ve stayed in! Julius and the whole Funky Monkey crew have thought of every type of need you could have, and provided it. PHYSICAL - free water, earplugs, eye masks, beach towels, shower towels, free fruit all day, small gym, in-house laundry service, and breakfast. EMOTIONAL - Social events to meet people, hostel group chat to communicate announcements and coordinate plans, and every single member of the staff is SO LOVELY. You can tell they’re all deeply invested in the wellbeing of each person who is staying at the hostel. SPIRITUAL - I mean, what can I say? Staying at The Funky Monkey is a transcendent experience. Great vibes all around! :) And to clarify, I do believe there is a difference between a “social” hostel and a “party” hostel. Being at this hostel doesn’t mean the only way to meet people is to drink every night—there were just as many people going to the beach, doing hikes, taking Muy Thai lessons, as well as some people who joined the hostel bar crawl without drinking at all. This is an amazing place to meet all kinds of people to enjoy all the types of things Koh Phangan has to offer. If this sounds like your kind of place? Get amongst it. :)

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making sure I felt comfortable. The rooms and common areas were clean and cozy. The location is perfect, close to everything you need. It’s a great place to meet other travelers and share experiences. Highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere!

The units in the hostel are fitted with a kettle. Featuring a shared bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer, rooms at Bunkhouse Koh Phangan also have free WiFi, while selected rooms also offer a terrace. All guest rooms will provide guests with a fridge. The owner Mango is the nicest lady. The hostel is brand new, the beds have plenty of privacy and nice bathroom. There is a huge Netflix screen in the hostel for the guests to use and adorable cat. Definitely recommend!

The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, an ATM and currency exchange for guests. The locations and rooms were pretty good

Set in Koh Phangan, 600 metres from Baan Kai Beach, Purple House - Female only Boutique hostel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a tour desk, along with free WiFi throughout the property. The property is non-smoking and is situated 1.3 km from Baan Tai Beach. The Purple House is situated on a main road, but several miles from city center. You will have several restaurants and convenience stores just across the street. There is also a beach nearby. All of that is within easy walking distance. If you want to go to the city center, you will need to use taxis. It’s not a big deal, they are very easy to get, and Amanda will even give you information for a taxi service you can text directly. You can also rent a scooter, but beware because we saw many bandaged up people from scooter accidents and the hospital bills are $6,000+ Just factor the taxis into the cost of your stay here. The atmosphere is nice. Amanda is really friendly and helpful. She will answer you quickly every time. She wants your stay to be nice. The house has 8 beds, a mini fridge and a kettle, a bathroom, and a main gathering space. When I stayed we had 5 and we had no problem taking turns with the bathroom and we did okay with only cooking instant noodles using a kettle. The only part that was frustrating was trying to keep the main area cooled off. We would get the temperature just right and then the housekeeping would come clean and leave the doors to the outside open for an hour and it would get hot again. If they would just keep the doors closed when they cleaned the house would have stayed cooler. I would definitely recommend this house for women traveling. It felt so safe and it was really nice to have automatic friends. Amanda and her husband have done a great job creating that.
