The vibe you find at Open Gate Hostel is hard to explain and find somewhere else. Staying here was one of the best decisions I have made throughout my two weeks in Hawaii. Staff is truly super (helpful, friendly, welcoming, helpful) and the people you meet there are just amazing. My private room was large, comfortable, and clean. Bathrooms and kitchen were very clean, too. Location is incredible.

We are located just a few minutes walk away from Waikiki Beach on the south shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Very Clean, safe, very friendly reception service, close to beach, nice roommates, comfortable bed to have a good sleep, free coffee & water in common area, everything is wonderful! I didn’t expect it is so good as I stay another 6 nights in normal hotel, way more expensive than hostel. This is the place if I come back to Honolulu I will definitely choose to stay again.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the most wonderful staff who truly made this hostel feel like a home away from home. A special shout-out to Emi (boss ;) ), Paige, and Joe, who were consistently friendly, incredibly helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great experience. Their warm hospitality and genuine care for guests really set Honu Waikiki apart. One of the highlights of my mornings was definitely the delicious morning cookies – a perfect start to each day! I was also incredibly impressed by the dedication of the cleaning personnel. The entire property was impeccably clean everywhere you went, from the common areas to the dorms and bathrooms. This level of cleanliness made for a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Honu Waikiki by ALOH is a gem in Honolulu, offering not just a place to sleep but a vibrant, welcoming community, I have now so many friends from around the world in my instagram, it’s a great place to make new friends. If you're looking for a clean, friendly, and well-managed hostel with an amazing team, look no further. I highly recommend Honu Waikiki to anyone visiting Honolulu – you won't be disappointed!

The place is amazing, the rooms are big and has a good view to nature. There are only 3 rooms which make it even better as there is no one disturbing. We really enjoy our stay and we will recommend it.
