I enjoyed the shared room, my roommates to my surprise were also dentists who were there for conferences like myself. The hostel felt like a hotel, it was very clean and quiet and the staff there were friendly and very responsive. Although I didn’t get to participate in any activities provided by the Hostal because of my very tight schedule, there were a lot of activities to choose from. Breakfast in my opinion was always lovely every morning.

It has a real 'homey' feeling. For the solo traveler, it's the place to be in Chicago! One of the best in the USA (I say this as a European who's been to 90% of them in the US). Chicago Parthenon Hostel offers both private and dorm rooms with granite shared bathrooms. 24-hour luggage storage and security lockers are available. I don't think they had a breakfast and we left for an event at 6:30 am so it was never on our agenda.
