Featuring an outdoor pool and deck, India House Hostel offers shared accommodations in the Mid-City district of New Orleans along the Canal St. Streetcar Line. Me and my boyfriend stayed in a private room with its own bathroom. The beds were as comfortable as we needed, the streetcar to the French quarter was right down the street, restaurants were available nearby, it was quiet at night and easily able to sleep. There were lots of facilities in the space as well a kitchen, common areas, pool, etc but we didn’t get to test a lot of that out because we mainly were out in the French quarter and came back to sleep. But all looked well kept. The price for the private rooms was SIGNIFICANTLY more affordable than a private hotel room, and I don’t think the facility is missing anything you would be paying more at a hotel for, in fact I think I prefer it to a hotel. The decor is unique and interesting and the staff extremely helpful and friendly.

Since I was traveling solo they made it super fun and not lonely at all! The staff were so nice and helped me out a lot with recommendations and where to stay Tesha even invited me to play games with them and she made my stay so so nice! Thank you guys! Will forever recommend you!

It's a little pricey but that can be mitigated with using their awesome kitchen to prepare your own meals. We were happy to have the opportunity to meet other travelers and chat with the bartender when we stopped by the bar next door. It was all a treat after a tiring semester.
