🏘️The house was build 400 years ago when my family set in the center of the Roman Fortress. The Orthodontics Independent Church, Saint Marie, is on the back of the house. Catholic Church and King's Mosque are very close. From centuries people of different religions live close to each other, that makes the place unique 😄. Many reconstructions happened during this long time, the last one was made in 2010. Walls of ground floor are well preserved, creating the atmosphere of antic and modern style. Wonderful lemon 🍋 and orange trees in the garden. There are historical and archeological objects in the propriety. Big stone containers where imported from Venice when the house was build, they served as food and olive oil storage. Hills surrounding Elbasan are planted with olive trees 🌿. In the middle of the fortress is the famous Egnatia Road, constructed by the Romans, which connected Rome with Constantinople. Christianity was spread in Europe through this road.

Ten years back the propriety was in a bad shape 🏚️, no one was leaving there. I had two options, selling it or reconstruct. I went for the second. The reconstruction ⚒️ and furnishing the house took me three years. Some antique furnishings from the old house where saved and are displayed now🏺. My interests and hobbies: history, archeology, trekking, etc.

🏰 Elbasan is worth visiting for people interested in History and Archeology. The Fortress, a unique square 350AC Roman fortification, was built with the intention of protecting the Egnatia Road. The magnificent walls creates the atmosphere of the past. It was a place where different cultures and religions mixed with each other. Egnatia Road (later branch of Silk Road) which divides the Castle created this great opportunity. 😊A peaceful atmosphere surrounds CastelHouse and all narrow streets in the neighborhood. You can enjoy the wonderful view of Saint Marie Church 🕌. Roman Catholic Church, King's Mosque and Ladi's sculptor studio are very close. Nice cafes 🍺🍵surround the castle walls, Real Scampis is worth visiting to see the foundations of the Roman Castle. Ethnographic museum, 200 meters from the CastleHouse. Tirana with it's cultural life is only 40 min. drive. Durres with archeological sites and beaches 🏖️ is 70 min drive. Lake Ohrid and Pogradec beaches are only 60min drive. Industrial Archeology lovers can visit the Steel plant⚙️, the biggest investment during communist regime, only 3km away
