The “Falkenstein” apartment is located on the upper floor of the building next door to the Pongitzerhof. The accommodation is located 1.5 km from the center of Matrei. The farm, built in 1893, is nestled between meadows to the south of the market town in the district of Bichl. The Pongitzerhof is run in the fourth generation by Wolfgang and Thomas with Anna-Lena. Various animals live at the Pongitzerhof and are happy to receive visitors. The Bernese Mountain Dog Mira can usually be found on her inspection tour of the grounds or taking a nap in the shade. The cats on the farm also prefer a cozy spot to laze around and enjoy being stroked at every opportunity. The horses and ponies can be seen in their boxes, in the paddock or grazing in the meadows. Near the paddock you can visit the chickens, which provide fresh eggs every day. You can also buy fresh fish from the farm's own ponds on request. There are various seating areas around the ponds to enjoy the sound of the water and the tranquillity of nature. The farm also distils schnapps from local fruits, where you can find everything from Pregler to Meisterwurz. In the barn there is a common room for bad weather or socializing. Highlights here are the pool table and the dartboard, but it's also worth taking a look in the cupboard with various books and games.
