950 meters above sea level, 3200 inhabitants in the entire valley, rich on history and one of the oldest settlements in the East-Alps. The idyllic national park village lures with historical inheritance of rural times, an abundance of unspoiled nature. Rauris has plenty of good restaurants with local delights and specialties and when you want to make your own diner the supermarket is just around the corner. In summer you can hike, climb and swim in our local waters and even find gold in them. Nevertheless, Raurisertal is also called the golden valley. In winter we have about 33 km of slopes to give you the best skiing pleasure and lovely alm huts where you can stay for lunch and from where you can enjoy the most beautiful views over the valley. At the end of the valley we have Kolm Saigurn, a winter paradise where you can wander, ski touring, snowshoe trails and has one of the longest toboggans.
