Step into a bright, newly finished two-bedroom retreat designed for slow mornings and long evenings in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Inside, the open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge is made for lingering — start the day with coffee by the window, then end it by the wood fire with a glass of local wine as the valley turns gold outside. You’ll have a full kitchen (cooktop, oven, full-size fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster), plus the basics for simple meals and cheese platters. Sleeping is comfortable and flexible, with two queen bedrooms and a double fold-out for extra guests. There are two bathrooms — an ensuite off the master, plus a main bathroom with a bath by the window for sunset soaks over the vines and hills (it also functions as an ensuite for the second bedroom). Outside, front and rear decks invite morning coffee, evening drinks, and clear-night stargazing. With minimal light pollution, the night sky here is ideal for star gazers. The house is fully self-contained, with private decks and free on-site parking. This is a stay on our small rescue farm, and by arrangement we can introduce you to the animals — including donkeys, horses, sheep, chickens and ducks — and collect fresh eggs when available. Feeling creative? Borrow our easel and paint the view, or request bikes to explore nearby country roads and cellar doors. A complimentary bottle of local wine from Corniola Vineyard is included, and with notice we can arrange arrival platters or simple celebration touches.

Dixons Creek sits right in the heart of the Yarra Valley, so days are easy to fill without long drives. You’re close to cellar doors and wineries (many within a short drive, some walkable or bikeable), plus wedding venues dotted throughout the valley. Yarra Glen is just a short drive away, with Healesville a little further on, making it easy to head out for meals, supplies or exploring. Local favourites nearby include the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, Healesville Sanctuary, and the cafes, pub and shops in Yarra Glen and Healesville. There are plenty of short and longer walks, scenic drives, bike paths, gin distilleries and hot-air ballooning on clear mornings — it’s one of those areas where you can keep it simple or plan a full itinerary. Even though you’re close to everything, the setting here feels peaceful and rural, with open views, fresh air and quiet nights.
