Bellamona is a charming Georgian two-bedroom holiday cottage, situated in the historic town of Longford. It was built circa 1850 and is registered with National Trust Tasmania and Heritage Tasmania. We have discount prices for bookings of 4 or more nights. Please contact us so we can apply the discounts. Bellamona is set amongst mature organic plum and apple trees – the plums are ready for picking in summer and the apples in autumn. Guests are welcome to enjoy these during their stay, as well as take tea in the sunny garden or relax with a wine in the late afternoon. The cottage features decorative, original Georgian fireplaces in both bedrooms and the living room. A reverse-cycle air-conditioner provides heating or cooling throughout the cottage. The cosy lounge is the perfect place to watch television or read a good book after a day of exploring the many wonderful and exciting places Tasmania has to offer.

Tom and I live in Queensland and Bellamona is our holiday house as well as yours. We love coming to Tasmania as it is a very friendly place with lots of history and many wonderful places to explore. Longford was settled in 1821 and is a 10min drive from Launceston Airport and a 25min drive from Launceston CBD and the spectacular Cataract Gorge. It has easy access to the Midland Highway (the Heritage Way), south to the capital Hobart – a two hour drive direct. But why not make it a whole day’s outing and stop in at the many historic towns along the way including Campbell Town, Oatlands, Ross and Richmond. There you will discover historic sites, antique shops, local industries and fine eateries. From Bellamona there is also easy access to major arterial roads which will take you west to Cradle Mountain and the beautiful heritage forests of the wilderness areas and famous lake fishing areas. To the north you can explore the wine producing Tamar valley or head north-west to the beautiful coastal towns to see the fairy penguins at the town of Penguin of course, and to the historic fishing village of Stanley with its famous ‘Nut’ to climb. You can also explore north-east through the lavender fields to Scottsdale and over to the coastal towns and beaches of St Helen’s and St Mary’s and hike to Wineglass Bay.
