Hello, my name is Lorraine Allanson, owner and operator of Mountain Whispers "The MW Collection" of properties and Strawberry Patch being one of them. I am a passionate period house restorer, otherwise known as "the vintage house whisperer" and go above and beyond to provide outstanding customer service at all times. I have won Customer Service awards in the Blue Mountains for 2016/17 and gone on to win silver in 2017 NSW Tourism Awards for luxury accommodation. I've taken sadly neglected properties in the Blue Mountains and personally restored them to their former glory. Each of my properties have been restored to their original glory, embodying the Blue Mountains rich cultural heritage and history. I wanted to recreate luxurious experiences from yesteryear – once only available to the very affluent – to today’s discerning travellers and encourage city urbanites and busy workers, to escape their busy lives which in today’s world, is so important. I truly love what I do and now offer my properties to those looking for an "experience". My world consists of my family, meticulous property restorations, providing my guests with a wonderful experience of yesteryear.

There's always a lot of fun things to do in the Blue Mountains. We love dressing and with the Roaring 20s Festival on in February each year, it's the perfect time to plan your escape and book in early as we have thousands of people visiting. Dust off your fedora and polish your pearls and participate in the Charleston Challenge and assist in breaking the world record. Attend the Art Deco Ball and step back in time to yesteryear. Perhaps you'd care to visit us in June when the Winter Magic Festival is on. The Winter Magic Festival is the Blue Mountain's highest profile and most anticipated annual event. It is a weekend when artists, musicians, dancers, drummers, choirs, stalls and the community take over one of Australia's most famous towns. Katoomba is closed off and becomes a winter wonderland. The Winter Magic Festival is a free, annual community event, celebrated around the winter solstice with lots of stalls to pick and choose from, perhaps ice skating at The Carrington or attend the Winter Magic Ball.
