We designed the cottage so you never forget you’re in the Australian bush, but with all the little luxuries that make a weekend feel special. Step outside at dusk or dawn and the kangaroos come right up to the you – it’s the moment every guest says they’ll remember forever. Inside it’s light, modern, and super-comfortable: a plush queen bed you won’t want to leave, a 65″ Smart TV for lazy movie nights, a kitchen that actually has everything (including the dishwasher so you don’t have to wash a thing), and Starlink WiFi if you really must check emails. My Husband and I have spent the last 3 years turning our quiet 5-acre land of Parklands into the ultimate wildlife escape. Every evening the same mob of wild kangaroos hops down to be hand-fed (they know me by sight now!), the Baby Doll sheep follow me around like puppies, and the Silkies lay the freshest eggs you’ll ever taste. R&R Roo & Rest are for couples who want to switch off, soak in the jacuzzi while the roos graze away, and wake up to kookaburras laughing outside the bedroom window. I live just a cross so I’m always here if you need anything – but far enough away that you’ll have total privacy. I can’t wait to share this little piece of Western Australian magic with you.
Parklands is one of the Peel region’s best-kept secrets – peaceful rural acreage just 15 minutes from Mandurah’s cafes, dolphin cruises, and beaches. Feed the kangaroos at your cottage, then drive 12–15 minutes to the estuary for fish & chips on the foreshore. World-class wineries and golf courses 10–20 minutes away. Easy day trips to the Serpentine Falls, Dwellingup forests, or just stay put and do nothing at all (most guests choose the last option!). You’ll see more wildlife here in one weekend than most people see in a lifetime – and still sleep in total comfort. We can’t wait to welcome you!
