Rickaty on Blackwood is part of a small vineyard and olive grove situated on the banks of the Blackwood River only 2.5 kilometres from the centre of Bridgetown.
We purchased this property in 1996 after falling in love with it during a weekend trip from Perth. At that time there was only one gum tree and a rustic old wooden shed standing on ten acres of pasture. The view of the river, birdlife and the ambiance convinced us that this is where we wanted to establish a B&B.
Over the years we gradually developed the property establishing the vineyard, olive grove and planting a number of trees. In 2007 we commenced building the house, Bed and Breakfast and establishing the garden.
The Bed and Breakfast opened in June 2010.
Beautiful Bridgetown is situated in the heart of the South West of Western Australia in the Blackwood River Valley. A picturesque place to stay with numerous tourist and restaurant facilities. Being the hub of the south west, day trips to surrounding towns, forests, and the countryside is a major attraction. After all, it is only a one and a half hour drive to the ocean.
