This property is in the most central location to all major attractions on Kangaroo Island. Rebuilt from the ashes after the devastating fires in 2020 it consists of two independent units under one roof. Each with 2 queen bedrooms, a fully self contained kitchen with dining and laundry , a bathroom and spacious living room. One of the units is fully wheelchair accessible .The homestead is surrounded by a large verandah where you can enjoy the views of the neighboring country side whilst having a pre-dinner drink then cook a BBQ . There a vast lawns leading up to the property with tranquil country gardens that also features a wood fired pizza oven, which can be used on request. We welcome well behaved pets. On the same property you find a wood turning gallery and workshop ( AustralianRedGumGallery), where local artist Jonny Gloyne turns local Red Gum into beautiful bowls, clocks, salt-and pepper grinders, just to name a few. There is also a pool table and dart board indoors which gests are welcome to use.

We have been rebuilding our house, Homestead and Gallery for two years following the devastating fires in 2020. We love hosting people from all over the world, sharing our beautiful country and surroundings with everyone and facilitating a memorable stay for our guests. Jonny lives on the island for 38 years and is the local wood turner. He happily shares his knowledge during a demonstration and also offers woodturning lessons on request. Simone has Austrian background, speaks German and loves to share special places to visit on the island as well as baking and cooking(pizzas in particular).

Roolagoon Homestead is located in the geographical center of Kangaroo Island along sealed Playford Highway surrounded by farmland. It is 20 minutes drive to North Coast beaches as well as 25 minutes drive to South Coast beaches. 40 minutes drive to Flinders Chase NAtional Park featuring Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch.
