Quality accommodation in Katherine is to be found at Discovery Parks - Katherine (previously Shady Lane Tourist Park). Set amongst shady trees and palms just 6km from Katherine on the road to Nitmiluk Gorge. Our accommodation ranges from elevated or ground level Studio to 1 and 2 Bedroom Cabins with split system cooling and balcony from which you can catch the breeze and observe our interesting wildlife and birds. All cabin accommodation is fully self-contained. Large powered sites can accommodate any size caravan, motorhome, camper trailer or tent. There is plenty to see in Katherine, in particular a visit to Nitmiluk (22km from our park) is a must. You can choose from various cruises, canoeing and swimming (seasonal) as well as walking trails and guided cultural tours. Katherine Museum, Cutta Cutta Caves (guided tours only), Katherine Hot Springs and Katherine School of the Air should all be on the "must see" list. Katherine Outback Experience is an award winning 90 minute show which celebrates life in the outback with real horse-starting and working dog demonstrations. Marksie's Stockman's Camp Tucker Night - dine under the stars with a 3 course meal cooked in camp ovens and be entertained with Aussie humour, true and not so true yarns. Top Didj - A truly unique Indigenous cultural experience lead by artists from the Top End Region of the Northern Territory. Edith Falls is an easy 70km from our park, Mataranka Hot Springs are approximately 100km. Mimi Art Gallery and Godinymayin Arts and Culture Centre, and Gallop Thru time Gallery all feature the works of local artists.
