Stone gate cottage is a 1960's Stone Cottage nestled in the picturesque Adelaide Hills of South Australia. The cottage was carefully designed by host Damien and Candice. The heart of this charming little cottage is its unique natural stone discovered throughout the exterior and interior of the property. A long the way you will find a selection of custom and handcrafted pieces, one being the stone wall crafted by Damien along with soft gentle pieces of materials and furnishing fitted throughout. The aesthetics is influenced by the natural surrounding landscape of the cottage to provide a connection with nature. This newly renovated cottage has several little reading nooks throughout. Looking out to each window discover cascading greenery. As you wake the morning, make a fresh coffee and sit in the sun room and out look the native gums and spot the neighbouring koala. Meanwhile in the winter months enjoy a nice glass of wine that you have purchased by one of the many local wineries. Stay nice and cozy by the fire place, adding extra warmth and comfort enjoy the ducted heating and cooling fitted throughout each room. Candice and Damien- Married in 2020 and expecting their first child in October 2021. The couple purchased this property June 2021. As soon as we saw this property there was a clear vision. Candice being the drive with creative vision having 20 years of running her own hair salon. Damien having a calm practical approach with a relaxed nature being his background of 15 years’ experience in the dairy industry as a farmer. Together combing their skill sets and work ethic- Candice started the design process while Damien worked the numbers and budget. The budget being tight due to Candice’s choice of design, it was all hands-on deck we stripped the cottage and studio back to its natural shell. Working around the clock and in between our day jobs to complete the cottage also knowing our baby was due in October 2021. Candice was slowing down being pregnant, so we reached out for extra hands family friends and a builder. Which also meant we sold my husbands speed boat to further fund the project. Today we have 2 beautiful children a girl and a boy we live on a family dairy farm 45min from the Adelaide Hills, Candice works as a hairdresser on farm and at Aldgate, Damien works on the family dairy farm. We love spending time with our children whether it be at the farm, Adelaide Hills or the beach. Aldgate a quaint little village with so many nature trails, wild life, cycling and adventures for the children. Enjoy the local wineries and fresh produce the hills have to offer. Also a short drive to Adelaide CBD and Hahndorf.
