Swamp Fox was built in Goolwa at Captain Sturt Marina. She has been lovingly fully refurbished to provide a luxurious 2br accommodation with all you need and more for a comfortable and relaxing stay both summer and winter. Guests always comment on how beautifully appointed she is and how warm, cosy, peaceful and still she is even if blowing a gale outside. It is only a short walk to all Goolwa has to offer - numerous restaurants, wine bars, distillery, art galleries etc and the wharf meeting point for Oscar W paddle steamer and Coorong cruises. Please note guests must be confident and comfortable with boarding a boat from a jetty, short gangplank and a floating pontoon - this accomodation is not suitable/recommended for elderly or those with any physical limitations. We can arrange assistance with boarding and disembarking if required and requested with 48 hours notice.

We feel so fortunate to have become the latest of only 4 caretakers of Swamp Fox. We know or have known them all and many locals often recount their fond memories of their times spent on Swamp Fox, she is a part of Goolwa history.

Located at our private jetty you are within a short stroll (2-3 minutes) to a the wharf precinct with a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars (Hector’s restaurant, the new Imbiss On The River and the Wharf Wine Bar. 10 -15 minute walk to Bombora on the river cafe/restaurant and a 5 minute drive or 10-15 by bike to Goolwa beach and Kuti Shack (‘Kuti’ being Narrindjeri for pipis) is a must for breakfast, lunch or dinner. A short drive in either direction you will find amazing attractions to visit - Port Elliot, Middleton, Victor Harbor and their amazing cafes, restaurants, retail outlets, antique shops and tourist attractions, Langhorne Creek and it’s beautiful wineries or the McLaren Vale wine district.
