The Chapel Deloraine was built in 1863 and is the original Baptist Chapel for the community of Deloraine. It was used by the church until the 1880's when the existing Tabernacle was constructed near today's Railway Park. Originally just the church, the building has had an entry (now the kitchen) and a toilet bock added (now the bathroom) over the last 100 years or so. Its was used widely by the community after its role as a church was concluded until sold in the 1950's when it was then converted to a private residence. Michael & Gayle purchased the Chapel in 2016 and have completely renovated the building and its garden keeping its heritage roots intact.

Deloraine is a delightful riverside town with an historic streetscape classified by the National Trust. Set in the foothills of the Great Western Tiers mountain range, Deloraine's is known for Australia's biggest working craft fair held over 4 days in November each year. More than 200 exhibitors show everything from kites to candle wicks, kaleidoscopes to fine silkscreen paintings, woodcarvings, lead lights and hand-blown glassware. Outside of festival time, arts and crafts still dominate with the town's many local galleries, craft shops and antique stores. Deloraine's streets are lined with Georgian and Victorian buildings and make for a charming morning or afternoon stroll. The town's excellent bakeries and cafes are also popular local hotspots. Farm experiences in the area include award-winning salmon, honey, raspberries and cheese, and the flora and fauna of Tasmania's world-famous national parks including the limestone caves of Mole Creek Karst National Park. The town is a good base from which to explore Liffey Falls, Cradle Mountain, the Great Western Tiers, Mole Creek and the Central Highlands. Deloraine is a 40-min drive (50 km) from Launceston.
