Find your sanctuary Our cosy, private chalets in Denmark are cradled by endless tingle and karri trees, many with views to the sparkling Wilson Inlet. Choose from four private one bed chalets, each with its own distinct artistic character and natural outlook — making for an idyllic couple’s retreat. Or, for a family holiday to remember, our two-bedroom, multi-level rustic cottage at The Floating Forest. Reserve your place in the forest Be still, and all you can hear is nature. Wake up to birdsong and the faint whisper of waves from the Southern Ocean. See dancing wrens in the gardens and the kangaroos grazing on the lawns. Time slows so you can feel the calming embrace of the living world. Retreat and relax amongst the pure, natural splendour with all the comforts of modern, fully equipped accommodation: reverse cycle air conditioning, smart TV, Nespresso VERTUO coffee machine, luxurious bed linen and fluffy towels. With your provisions sorted, settle in and enjoy the simple charms of a cozy log fireplace (wood provided), or a prime outdoor setting with Weber to dine whilst watching spectacular sunsets. Explore Denmark and the Great Southern Region Wander the wildflower-laden forest trails or explore the creativity in town. While The Floating Forest puts you worlds away from life’s worries, we’re only around one kilometre from Denmark with its restaurants, breweries, art galleries and proximity to the Shadforth District wine region. Stay in or adventure out; make your escape your own. The Floating Forest is the perfect base for day trips to Albany, Walpole or the Porongurups. From here, you can cycle parts of the Munda Biddi trail or hike a section of the world-famous Bibbulmun Track. Kayak through the tranquil Wilson Inlet. Ride a mountain e-bike or a wave. Soak up the sun on pristine beaches (20 minutes to the famous Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks) and keep one eye out for whales on the horizon. Snorkel or scuba dive, or take the Tree Top Walk in the Valley of the Giants. Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.8 for a two-person trip.

Denmark is a quaint coastal town nestled in the heart of the Great Southern in Western Australia. A hidden gem where the lush, green forests meet the serene Southern Ocean. Explore towering trees, rolling hills, and the calming sounds of the forest. This special place is a sanctuary that soothes the soul. Our location is an ideal base for exploring the stunning nature in Great Southern, including the Bibbulmun Track. We’re also right in the Great Southern wine region. There are plenty of activities nearby, including the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk in the Walpole district, and the Porongurups. We are 20 minute drive from Greens Pool, the jewel of Denmark. This natural wonder and serene oasis is adored by all who visit. Its calm, crystal-clear water is shielded by majestic rock formations, creating a natural aquarium. Let the beauty of this water sanctuary restore your spirit and leave you feeling rejuvenated. Or take the path less trekked. Just around the corner from its famous cousins, Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks, is one of the Great Southern's best kept secrets. We think Madfish Bay and Waterfall Beach are just as magical. Head there at low tide, and venture onto the sandbar. Like cycling? Whether you bring your own mountain bikes or rent from us, cycle a section of the "path through the forest". Meander at your pace or crank it up, but be sure to take the time to absorb the majesty of the towering karri trees around you and the breathtaking views of the ocean. Prefer walking? The Mokare Heritage Trail is a flat and gentile 3km scenic walk along the banks of Denmark River, featuring pelicans, wildflowers and forest views provided by the enchanted paperbark and karri trees. Look out for the resident fairies with their charming doorways created by local artisans. Grab a coffee from Ravens Café, and pick up the trail across the road.
