On entering the main home 'The View' at Kurrara, you are welcomed with expansive 180 deg views of the Mainland to the NE through to the Southern Ocean over Pelican Lagoon to the south. The property is surrounded by farmland which only adds to the setting and the tranquility. The property is frequented by local, birds and wildlife meaning you may see a kangaroo outside your bedroom window in the morning or koala's in the gums lining the driveway on your morning walk Topping up the bird bath attracts the Blue Wrens and more.

I grew up on Kangaroo Island and to this day nowhere else feels more at home. Im thrilled to be able to share such a unique location with its natural wonders, wildlife, wineries and range of idyllic places to eat, be it a pub, cafe or awarded restruant nesseled inside a fig tree or prefectly positioned overlooking one if KI's scenic locations. Everytime I'm on KI, I always make time to explore all there is to offer. Being able to share these experinces and host new and returning visitors is truly an honour.

American River, known as 'The River' by locals is a unique seaside location, from the gum trees growing all the way to the waters edge. The spectacular display of the tidal river as the ocean flows in and out of the lagoon, with the changing tides makes it one in a million. American River is one of the smaller towns on KI but has so much to offer. Extensive walking trals, casual to exquisit restaurants and cafes, freshly shucked oysters on the wharf while the local seal soaks up the sun, partaking at the brewery or an authentic Thai experince nestled in bushland on a Thursday night "The River" is to be explored. Relative location, American River is perfectly situated as a base from which to explore KI. Be it touring the Dudley Peninsula, natural wonders of the south or north coasts or visits to the many wineries, beaches or local breweries your days of touring and exploring are undertaken with minimal back tracking.
