Housed in a classified former notary residence dating back to 1892, The Museum benefits from a central location in historical Antwerp, 200 m from the Royal Museum of Fine Arts (KMSKA), 1.5 km from Groenplaats, Meir and Grote Markt. Free WiFi is provided. The suites in this 19th century house, still run as a family home, are fitted with hardwood floors, a seating area and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. They offer a private bathroom with a bath and a separate walk-in shower. The Salomé Penthouse ('Presidential Suite') has a walk-in shower, a home cinema, a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious roof terrace with garden as well as city views. Guests can start their day with a gourmet breakfast taken in the Belle Epoque rooms overlooking the Japanese garden. A breakfast can also be served in the rooms. The Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp is less than a 5-minute walk from The Museum. It is 1.8 km to the Steen and 2.2 km to Antwerp Central Station. From here, you can travel to Ghent (55 minutes) or Brussels (40 minutes). Dutch: Het hotel is gevestigd in een voormalige notariswoning uit 1892. Vanaf hier reist u in 55 minuten naar Gent en in 40 minuten naar Brussel.

From the very beginning it was our aim to create, in the historical center of our wonderful city, a place where the living is good and the hustle of our fast world is far, far away. For us this means: enjoying the silence in our 19th century spaces and the Japanese garden, cherish beauty (interior, art, literature), take the time for conversation, and last but not least: slow food, live cooking, pure flavours. To put it simply: the hurried traveler rushing through 6 cities in 5 days, is not really our cup of tea. All others who are open to slowing down and a few hours or days of authenticity: this might be the place where you will keep on returning every season or year, to visit your Antwerp friends waiting for you- Welcome!

Our Belle Epoque family home dates from 1892; in it are 4 spacious suites we offer to our guests. This exquisitely restored fin-de-siècle notary house is located in a residential area 250 meters from the Royal Museum of Fine Arts and takes you back to the time of Flaubert, Maupassant, Tolstoy, Proust, Thomas Mann, Strindberg, Wilde, Puccini and Mahler... You are welcomed as friends and stay in the delightful company of art works, books, and other intriguing objects. Our gourmet breakfasts are served in the Belle Époque rooms on the ground floor, overlooking the Japanese garden. Lydia is passionate about gastronomy and, on most days, prepares the breakfast ‘live' for you with nothing but fresh and local ingredients. You can also opt for a smaller breakfast served in the room. An experience you won't easily forget.
