One of the charms of renting out is the personal contact with national and international guests. We are available to guide each guest where necessary. And those who prefer complete privacy are also more than welcome. Good to know: the history of Les Tourelles goes way back. The building is part of the Oratorian Refugium built in 1628 as an annex to the small monastic order of the Basilica of nearby Scherpenheuvel. Its 400-year history has left the main building structurally intact, but the annex was destroyed by fire in 1888 and rebuilt in 1937. Since 2002, the Oratorian Refugium has also been officially recognized as National Heritage Monument. In 2019, the vacation home "Les Tourelles" was thoroughly renovated and equipped with every comfort. The name refers to the original French name of the "toy castle" which was popularly described as "the house with the little towers" or "Les Tourelles". The vacation apartment is on walking distance of the historic city center of Diest and if you cross the ring road in the other direction, you walk directly into a perfectly quiet natural reserve area. Pick your choice between open nature, the nearby city park, the provincial domain Halve Maan with the "largest in-land beach" of the country or all kinds of sports accommodations such as tennis, swimming, skating, cycling.... Parking is free on the ring road (200m from the apartment) or on the nearby provincial domain of the Halve Maan. On the parking square in front of the apartment you can park for free using a blue parking zone disc (parking time limited to 2 hours). Public transport is very accessible: bus service at the corner of the street, train station at 15 minutes walk - with easy connection to Leuven, Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, the Belgian coast or even Amsterdam or Paris.
