Jair is a Carioca (Rio native) who made his home on Ilha Grande over 20 years ago. He has been hosting the Rainforest House on Airbnb for many years. He is a world traveler and enjoy meeting our international visitors. The island is an amazing place and I love to share the best of it with our guests. He is always happy to show you around and make sure you are comfortable in the rainforest. Fernando is native from the north of Brazil. From a young age Fernando caught the “travel bug” and set off on an adventure traveling by bike throughout Brazil and South America. He spent time living in the Amazon learning from the indigenous tribes how to survive in the jungle. He came to Ilha Grande 10 years ago, helped build the Rainforest House, and has been hosting guests for the last 6 years. Fernando is delighted to help guests with anything they need on the island including assisting guests with hiking to the house and recommendations on activities. Staying at the Rainforest House is a special experience. As a guest, we will give you as much information as you want about the island or leave you alone to experience it as you please. The Rainforest is house is located on Ilha Grande, Brazil, a tropical island paradise! The house is hidden in the jungle, but close to the village of Abraão which offers plenty of amenities - restaurants, shops, travel agencies, internet cafes, laundry, etc. The house has incredible views of the mountains and forest as well as the bay of Ilha Grande and the dramatic Brazilian coast. Please note: Everything is by foot! If you have any trouble with hiking or simply don't enjoy it, you will be better off in town. You must walk 10 minutes across the town beach and hike another 10 minutes on a rainforest trail to arrive at the house. Our guests have a unique experience at the Rainforest House and we are delighted to provide it, but the main attraction is the secluded and gorgeous location...if you have a sense of adventure, enjoy the outdoors, and want to stay far from the crowds in the middle of the rainforest, please come!
