Situated on what is often described as ‘the flattest cleared piece of land on Gambier Island’, the Gambier Lavender Lodge & Homestead and its owner are converting a large older home with a small garden and mini lavender farm (~600 plants) to a fully-renovated lodge and homestead. As of the spring of 2024, our first newly renovated suite for short-term rentals (ideal for friends and family coming to visit Gambier Island residents) is available. A second 2-bedroom garden-level suite will be available in the spring of 2026.
We look forward to welcoming you to our slice of paradise.
宿泊施設の情報
The Gambier Lavender Lodge & Homestead is a working (and growing) homestead offering a quiet retreat on a ‘remote’ island only 30km from downtown Vancouver.
PLEASE NOTE: Gambier Island is a boat-access-only island. We have a passenger ferry, which departs from the Langdale Ferry Terminal, and there are private water taxi companies out of Horseshoe Bay who offer scheduled service to Gambier Island, but you cannot bring a vehicle to the island. (See important information about getting to Gambier Island in the 'About the neighbourhood' section

Getting here:
Guests will want to consider taking transit or getting a ride to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal, as parking there is expensive.
Access to the island is either via the Stormaway, a 10-minute passenger ferry departing the BC Ferries Langdale terminal many times daily, or by water-taxi out of Horseshoe Bay. The host can advise on transport if needed.
Once on Gambier the host will meet you at your arrival dock to pick up your luggage, food, etc. and drive it to the property. Unfortunately due to both vehicle capacity and liability reasons, guests should plan to walk to the property.
* Langdale Terminal to New Brighton via the Stormaway (10 minute boat ride, 10 minute walk):
NOTE - the Stormaway accepts CASH OR PREPAID TICKETS ONLY. Roundtrip cost per person is about fifteen dollars, a book of 10 prepaid tickets can be purchased for about fifty-five dollars from the gift shop on the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale.
If driving onto the ferry (note that connection times to the Stormaway are designed for foot-passengers) - upon exiting follow traffic to the first light, then turn right (Port Mellon Highway), and right again back to the terminal parking lot. Park (don't forget to pay!) and make your way back towards the dock you arrived at. Just before getting back to the large ferry, look for signs for Gambier and Keats island down a ramp on your left.
If arriving as a foot-passenger, depart the ferry from Horseshoe Bay and turn right immediately to head down the ramp to the Stormaway.
* Horseshoe Bay to Gambier Harbour via water taxi (45 minute boat ride, 20 minute walk):
Mercury Transport and Cormorant Water Taxi both offer scheduled service from the Horseshoe Bay government dock (where the Search and Rescue boats dock) to Gambier Harbour (the closest dock on the island to the Lodge that either of the two transport operators service). Schedules vary seasonally, and tickets are bookable online.
