In 1984, when a group of ski patrollers learned Silver Star Mountain Resort was building a new day lodge in the centre of the village, they looked back at the original day lodge—an iconic three-story ‘A’ frame structure—and had an idea. In 1987, Pinnacles Suite Hotel welcomed its first guests. After three years building the 11 suites that now make up the Central Lodge, people marvelled at the conversion. Each suite kept some unique detail from the original lodge: exposed wooden beams, a rock fireplace, A-frame lofts kids adore. Pinnacles quickly became one of the most popular Silver Star hotels for people who wanted the chalet experience: a cosy suite with room for everyone, a kitchen to fix meals, and the chance to ski-in, ski-out directly onto mountain powder. In addition to the fantastic location and unforgettable character, this was one of the few Silver Star hotels that offered, from a private sundeck hot tub, endlong views of the Monashee Mountains and its namesake Pinnacles peaks. If all of that - the charm, the locale, the amenities weren’t enough - the hotel took pride in turning guests into friends with the hospitality of a family.
