Heidi and Tarek bought the historic townhouse in 2020 and put their heart and soul into renovating and remodelling it. Special care was taken to preserve the historic fabric of the building, which gives the house its unique charm and which we would like to bring closer to our guests. The name ‘a knight's townhouse’ refers to the original mural of a medieval soldier, which is located in the flat on the second floor and has been painstakingly restored. Note: It is not permitted to use the accommodation for illegal activities and/or prostitution. Illegal activities will be systematically reported to the police.

Vacations with a historic feel and modern comfort in a very central location in the old town of the picturesque town of Büren an der Aare. Stores, cafés, restaurants, pharmacy, bank and post office are all less than 5 minutes' walk away. A perfect location for your stay! The rear part of the residential and commercial building dates back to the 13th century and contains parts of the original town wall. The front part was added in later centuries. Mobility: There is a regional bus service in Büren. The train station is 270 meters away. The neighboring towns can also be reached by private car in a very short time. The apartment has a reserved parking space nearby, which is available to our guests free of charge. Additional public parking spaces are located directly in front of the accommodation for a short parking period. The 2.5-room apartment on the second floor offers space for 5 people and was completely refurbished and renovated in 2024. Special care was taken to preserve the historic building fabric wherever possible. When you enter the living room, you feel transported back to the Middle Ages - but with all the comforts of modern times: a floor made of fir wood, carefully plastered walls, a view of the market square with the castle, the ancient ceiling beams and the eye-catcher of the room, an original medieval mural, which has been painstakingly restored and now gives viewers a sense of the transience of time in its former beauty. The apartment also has a new, well-equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom with shower tray, toilet, washbasin and washing machine/tumbler. The bedroom with parquet flooring contains a double and a single bed and leads onto the small balcony with bistro table and two chairs. Note: In the living room, the room height under the three ceiling beams is a medieval 1.85m. Between the beams and in all other rooms, the room height is 2.05m and 2.4m respectively.

Büren's historic centre is a sight in itself. Its central location between all of Switzerland's major cities such as Bern, Basel, Zurich, Lausanne, Geneva etc. as well as various bodies of water, the Alps and the Jura mountains makes Büren the perfect starting point for discovering Switzerland's beauty.
