Russo is a small village in the heart of Val Onsernone. From the village, one can access Vergeletto, Spruga, and Locarno using the reliable Post bus. Russo is about 35 minutes from Locarno city. Although the road in the valley has amazing mountain views, and rest stops where you can breath in the beauty of the Onsernone, it is windy and for some challenging to drive on if you're not use to driving in the mountains. Russo has two wonderful restaurants: La Posta Restaurant is about 5 minutes from Casa Gialla and offers fresh hand made dishes. The Bar Amici is in front of Casa Gialla and it serves local Ticinese food. The only small store in the village is located on the ground floor of Casa Gialla. You can find fresh bread, fruit, and other essential necessities.
