Spacious Accommodation: Ula’s Holiday Apartments offers spacious apartments from 2 persons up to families of 6 persons with fully equipped kitchens, dining area, seating area and lovely mountain and garden views. Most apartments have a balcony or terrace and lake views. Offered Services: Guests appreciate the free laundry service, private on-site covered parking and free WIFI. Private check-in and check-out services ensure a smooth arrival and departure. Outdoor Facilities: The property features surrounding gardens, barbeque facilities, outdoor seating area and a children’s swing set. Free bicycle parking and sun loungers are available. Modern Amenities: Kitchens are fitted with glass ceramic stovetops, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, electric kettle, toaster, rice cooker, spices, tea and coffee machine. All apartments feature a flat screen TV with cable channels, streaming services and radio channels. Bathroom slippers, bath and hand towels, and free toiletries are provided. Convenient Location: Public bus stop Beatenberg, Waldegg is 2 minutes walking distance, Interlaken West Train Station is 9 km away, Grindelwald Terminal is 28 km and Giesbachfälle 32 km. The nearest airport is Zurich Airport, 142 km from the accommodation. Skiing, Hiking and cycling are possible within the area. Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.5 for a two-person trip. The Tourist Taxes of CHF 4.20 per person per night are not included in the prepayment and are to be paid in CASH at any time during your stay.

After running a popular Hotel / B&B in Interlaken for over 10 years, I longed to return to my hometown of Beatenberg to be away from the mass tourism and have direct doorstep access to fantastic hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and nature in general. Being able to sit on my balcony listening to cowbells and enjoying the spectacular views is a dream come true. I have spent years traveling the world, visiting over 30 different countries as well as having worked abroad in Ireland and Australia. Not only has this given me a fantastic cultural education, it has made me appreciate even more the absolute splendor, peacefulness and life quality that living in Beatenberg provides. It is a pleasure to be able to share my home and love of this region to visitors from all over the globe.

Ula's Holiday Apartments was originally built in 1866 as the Hotel Jungfrau one year after the main road from Interlaken to Beatenberg was constructed. Its location was specifically chosen because of the spectacular panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and Lake of Thun. On a clear day, as many as 40 mountain peaks are visible from our home. Being only 12 minutes drive from Interlaken or 20 minutes with public transportation, our guests benefit from a tranquil, Alpine setting with unsurpassed mountain and lake views, yet have close access to all the amenities of a world-renowned tourist resort. For those planning a holiday in the Interlaken region, Ula's Holiday Apartments offer a true Swiss Alpine village experience away from the tourist crowds, traffic and noise.

The Panoramaweg Neiderhorn - Gemmenalphorn - Waldegg which takes approximately 2 and 1/2 hours walking time was voted in 2008 as the BEST HIKE IN ALL OF SWITZERLAND! Starting from our home you walk 1 minute to the bus stop Beatenberg, WALDEGG where you can catch bus #101 to the Beatenberg Station Cable Car (with the guest card you receive upon check-in the bus ride is free and you get a discount on the cable car). From the Neiderhorn you follow the ridge line (Bergfeldstand - Gemmenalphorn). From the Gemmenalphorn you go down to the Chuematte where you can continue along a mountain road to the top of the Ski Lift Hohwald where you can connect to trails taking you the rest of the way down to Waldegg and to our home. The hike is moderate and offers panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, Bernese Alps and Lake of Thun the entire way. When you are lucky, you can see the wild Steinbock/Ibex and Gemse on the ridgetop or at the Gemmenalphorn. Also keep your ears open for the whistling warning call of the Groundhogs (Murmeli) that are in the meadows by the Gemmenalp. During the autumn you can also hear the mating calls of the Hirsch in the Justistal. Simply FANTASTIC!

Beatenberg is located at 1200 meters above sea level. It is a 12 minute uphill drive from Interlaken on a curving mountain road.

Please note that guests need to keep the kitchen tidy and wash all dishes before they leave.
