We moved from the Texas Hill Country between Austin, and San Antonio, Texas. To Cocles Beach in January 2019. Selling our cars and riding bicycles for the first 2-years of our journey in moving to Costa Rica full time. In March of 2021 we bought a 4x4 Nissan Pathfinder and moved to our new inspirational location 20-minutes outside of Turrialba on a high mountaintop across from and facing the active Turrialba Volcano. With breathtaking views and a peace that is almost surreal. Family friend and beach house host Mario stays at our Pirate and Mermaid location to provide personal assistance in using the BBQ pit, giving directions or recommendations. As well as offering personal services for cooking or making drinks upon request at his additional charges per service provided. You work out whatever such additional paid-service arrangements you want with Mario. Come where you have truly individualized support, care and attention. And enjoy the privacy of being the one and only party on the entire property!

We are on the right coming into Puerto Viejo in Playa Negra just a 3-minute walk to the beach out our front privacy gate. This is the beginning of the commercial district of Puerto Viejo that runs through the downtown area's restaurants, bars, banks and businesses. These commercial areas closer to the beach are noticeably more active and louder than residential areas farther from town. We are on the main drag with a new Sushi place and mini-super only a short 3-minute walk from our gate to the beach. The newly upgraded mini-super for basic supplies is across the street from a new restaurant-and-bar on the Playa Negra Beach: "NEMA's" !! Where you can enjoy the drinks and food and the salinity of the Caribbean Sea! Puerto Viejo, close to everything you could want or need. And directly across from our large privacy gate there is a miniature pulperia, (convenience store). There is one empty lot next to us on one side, and a vacant house with regular management and maintenance on the other side, and private homes in a small single family subdivision behind us. One of the best parts for Tico's from San Jose... We are on the going out, side of town. On the busy travel weekends, you don't have to be stuck for hours waiting to get out of town, from places like Monzanilla, Punta Uva or Cocles. You are already at the ENTRY point coming into town, which is the main EXIT point when it's time to go home. So much more convenient on busy holidays or weekends. Makes a big difference, how you can easily save over an hour just heading home. We lived in Cocles when we first moved to Costa Rica in January 2019, so we know how long you can get stuck in traffic going nowhere for hours trying to get out of town. Everything bottles up and it's a very SLOW-go NO-go stalled situation coming from the other side of Puerto to leave town.
