This charming and spacious apartment is on the World Heritage list. It is a newly renovated monument in the center of the historic area in Willemstad, called Otrobanda. Situated at street level it has a large pleasant outside terrace. Inside is the living room, kitchen, one airconditioned bedroom, large bathroom and a second airconditioned bedroom if desired. New thick comfortable mattresses in both bedrooms. If you're two persons and each wants a bedoom of your own, please make your reservation for 3 persons. You pay an extra percentage for the second room. The apartment is decorated with art, just like the surrounding streets are booming with art. Emerge yourself, enjoy its beauty. Very close around the corner you find the famous swinging pontoon Emma bridge, shops, the sea, café's and restaurants, a museum and many alleys with great historic architecture and some decorated with mural paintings. The famous Netto Bar, where King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima stopped for a drink is nearby.

Lex and Sylvia live in the monumental house on the premises. The apartment is a separate building next to the house. We respect your privacy. Our caretaker handles all communication regarding your booking. We like you to feel good during your stay, so we will make sure to answer your questions and needs. Lex has worked as a mathematics teacher and is a movie lover and a writer of film related books. Sylvia is an artist. She paints and has her studio in the front part of the main house. In Otrobanda you find all kinds of people living together, poor and rich. The main shopping street, Breedestraat (Broad street) has the cheaper shops for buying clothes and all kinds of daily necessities. The supermarket is at 100 m. walk and has a good variety. Otrobanda is famous for its Nettobar where the Dutch king Willem-Alexander and queen Maxima came to have a drink. You can walk through the alley ways to the sea, to the Riffort and the famous pontoon Emma bridge. The mural paintings on many of the buildings can fill you with a sense of awe. In the neighbourhood you find restaurants with local food too. Try the Bario Urban Streetfood if you like good food in a nice atmosphere. Stop by at Maira's kitchen for breakfast. Pay a visit to lovely Hulanda Village area too. Walk accross the bridge to the Handelskade and enjoy Iguana's Happy Hour with a drink and some food at sunset to experience the unique view of the bridge that opens to let in small or huge boats. So here you are, a choice for everybody within close vicinity of your apartment.
