Rusty's Retreat is a stone house with charming double-paned windows from which bucolic views exist. Each room is completely different from the other and there is space to spend time alone or gather as a group. The decor is eclectic with intriguing artwork throughout; Canadian First Nations art, Czech artists, Romanian. Underfloor heating in the bathroom, kitchen and, ceramic stove bedroom keep you cozy in winter and in summer the thick stone walls provide a natural air-conditioning feature keeping the interiors blissfully cool when it's hot outside.
Colleen loves the countryside around the cottage and spends a lot of time walking Ben and Pepper, her rescue dogs. She lives in the second cottage on the property. Colleen has always enjoyed hosting and making people feel welcome and comfortable and is available to guests should they wish to chat or need assistance or information.
The cottage is located at the end of a sleepy village with no through road so peace and quiet prevail. The stars shine bright and during the day there are numerous hiking and cycling trails to head out on. There is a small lake half a kilometre away and the Vltava River can be reached via car or bus #360, on foot or bike and is 6 km away. The town of Sedlcany offers a museum, bank machines, a wide variety of shops and services, bowling and pubs and restaurants, good second-hand shops, garden centres and a theatre.
