Welcome to Claycation! We are passionate about ecological building with clay and wood and aim to preserve the history of this house—without compromising on modern comfort. Step by step, we are renovating this special place with great care and charm, entirely in our sustainable style.

Our house was built in 1568 and is one of the oldest houses in Marktbreit. Locals even say that it could be one of the very first houses in Marktbreit. In September 2023, we took over the hotel Gasthof zum goldenen Schiff, and since then, we have had the pleasure of bringing life back into this historic building. To meet the diverse needs of our guests, we currently offer three room categories: Clay Rooms – fully renovated, modern yet cozy, with thoughtfully used natural materials. Classic Rooms – partially modernized, a mix of old and new that preserves the historic charm. Budget Rooms/Apartment – still in their original style, simple and functional. The breakfast room still exudes the charm of an old Franconian inn, with plenty of dark wood and a cozy atmosphere – here, you can enjoy your breakfast in a traditional, welcoming setting.

Marktbreit: Located at the southernmost point of the Main Triangle, Marktbreit is the perfect starting point for excursions and sightseeing tours. Our charming town invites you to take a walk through history. In addition to the patrician houses in the town center and the well-known Malerwinkel, there is a museum that promises wonder and discovery. Würzburg: Visit the princely city of Würzburg and explore the Marienberg Fortress, the Käppele, or the Residence. Take a stroll through the Residence Garden or simply enjoy a leisurely walk through the city. Travel time by car: approximately 30 minutes. Cycling Tours: Would you prefer shorter trips by bike in the surrounding area? No problem. Beyond our picturesque town, there are many small wine villages nearby that are worth a visit.
