With great attention to detail, we have transformed the former coachman’s house from 1897 into a temporary home that combines history, comfort, and nature. Our passion is to provide our guests with a relaxing stay – whether for couples, families, or friends who want to enjoy the peace of the Westerwald or actively explore the region. We place great value on a well-kept, personal atmosphere and on making sure our guests feel at home right away. Please note that we rent our holiday apartments exclusively to vacation guests. The Kutscherhaus am Weiher was built in 1897 and originally served as a stable and carriage house. Today, the historic building shines in new splendor and houses two lovingly furnished holiday apartments on the first floor. Where the coachman once lived and hay was stored, guests can now relax and experience the beauty of the Westerwald in all its variety. The Rosenrot apartment offers around 72 m² of space for couples or families. A spacious living and dining room, a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, a stylishly decorated bedroom, and an additional attic room accessible via a spiral staircase ensure comfort and coziness. The highlight is the large rooftop terrace with seating and sun loungers – perfect for enjoying sunny hours outdoors. The Schneeweißchen apartment is about 50 m² and ideal for two adults and up to two children. A bright living room with cozy sofas, a separate bedroom with antique beds, a modern kitchen-diner, as well as a bathroom with shower and washing machine provide everything for a relaxed stay. An additional sleeping area on a small mezzanine is particularly popular with children. Both apartments combine historic elements such as antique furniture with modern comforts – Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, dishwasher, and many other amenities are, of course, included. The property surrounding the Kutscherhaus resembles a park and features its own pond and plenty of leisure opportunities. The RB7 hiking trail around Hundsdorf starts right in the village, while the romantic half-timbered town of Montabaur with its castle can be reached quickly. The A3 motorway is only 5 minutes away, the A48 about 10 minutes. The nearest airports are Cologne or Frankfurt, each approx. 75 km away. From the ICE high-speed train station in Montabaur, you can reach Cologne or Frankfurt in under an hour.

Our Kutscherhaus is located on the edge of the village of Hundsdorf, surrounded by woods and meadows. A walking path to Ransbach-Baumbach passes directly by the house, so even picking up fresh rolls in the morning can be combined with a pleasant stroll. For small everyday shopping, there is no need for a car. Here you are right in the middle of nature and yet only minutes away from major transport connections. Around the Kutscherhaus am Weiher, there is plenty for our guests to discover. Right on the doorstep, beautiful hiking and cycling trails through the Westerwald begin, passing forests, ponds, and fields. A special highlight is the RB7 circular trail – “Around Hundsdorf / Siebenwege”, which starts directly in the village. Covering about 7 km, it leads through varied landscapes with fields, meadows, wooded sections, and the idyllic Masselbach valley – perfect for a refreshing outdoor break. In just about 5 minutes by car, you can reach the small town of Ransbach-Baumbach, famous for its traditional ceramics and home to restaurants, cafés, and shops. After about 15 minutes you arrive in Montabaur, with its baroque castle, charming old town, and the popular outlet center. Also well worth a visit is the Stöffel Park (approx. 20 minutes), a unique natural and industrial monument with fascinating exhibitions and events. The city of Koblenz at the Deutsches Eck – where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet – is only about 25 minutes away. Here you can enjoy cable car rides up to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, river cruises on the Rhine and Moselle, and many historic sights. The romantic Lahn Valley, with towns such as Diez or Bad Ems, is also just 30 minutes away. Families especially enjoy trips to the Wild and Leisure Park Westerwald (about 25 minutes) or to Lake Wiesensee with swimming opportunities and boat rentals (about 35 minutes). From the Kutscherhaus am Weiher, nature, culture, and history can all be perfectly combined.
