A real highlight of the region is the impressive Ferropolis - the city of iron. The former open-cast mine site is now a spectacular festival and event location and attracts visitors from all over Europe every year. Open-air concerts, exhibitions and festivals provide unforgettable experiences, especially in summer. Those interested in culture will also get their money's worth: the Bauhaus city of Dessau with its famous museums and masterpieces is only around 30 minutes away. You can reach Halle with its diverse art and music scene or Leipzig, which impresses with its modern urbanity, historical sights and lively gastronomy, just as quickly. Those who prefer a quieter pace will find charming villages, regional farm shops, cosy cycle paths and many little surprises off the beaten track in the surrounding area.
