The Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal Nature Park is one of the most beautiful and valuable landscapes in Germany. It offers space for biotopes that are rare in Central Europe and a wide range of opportunities to observe nature. In addition, Germany's oldest and longest hiking trail - the Rennsteig - begins just 10 km from Ifta. It is 170 km long and with around 100,000 hikers annually it is also the most popular long-distance hiking trail.
