Rønhave is an old farm which can be dated back to 1315. Both dukes and kings have owned it. In the war in 1864 several battles were fought at and around Rønhave. Therefor it is also possible to see graves of Danish and German soldiers in the neighborhood. The farm house was shot down and burned and therefor rebuild in 1865. Later on Rønhave was bought by the Danish Government and it was used as an experimental farm to make research on different types of grain. The farm is placed in scenic surroundings with a big garden and a little lake. Close to Rønhave is a forest and the water surrounding a part of the peninsula. In 2003 it was bought by the current owners. They needed the fields for their agriculture. In 2010 they decided to recreate the life that was once here and in 2011 eight small vacation apartments was made. In the attic in the former operating buildings is a little museum with egg. old agricultural objects, furniture from a closed school and handwork. There is also a butchers shop and a shop with interior design.

One of the things I love the must is to take a walk in the garden or to the sea and just find a nice spot to catch a bit of the sun and enjoy the quietness.

The neighborhood is a quiet and safe area, where you can take a walk, on the small roads and path or ride a bike. There is a very popular butcher here at Rønhave (www.ronhaveslagteren.dk), which is open Tuesday - Friday 9.00 am - 5.30 pm and Saturday 9 am -1 pm. There is also a gift shop which is open (www.oldea.dk)Tuesday - Friday from 10am - 5pm and Saturday 10 am - 1 pm.
