The handmade free-standing wooden bathtub offers a leisurely respite as you are lulled by the sounds of the small river that runs close to the property. The outdoor hammock style seating area offers a unique immersion into the stunning natural surroundings. Welcome to Wild-Wasi! Wasi means “house” in the local indigenous Kichwa language – and it is truly a labor of love, as well as a reflection of our blended backgrounds as we are an Ecuadorian-German family. My name is Franzi and together with my husband Flavio, our two kids Hanna, Elian and our dog Bob, we are fulfilling a long-cherished dream of welcoming visitors to our jungle home! We want to share this paradise with our guests and offer you a unique and unforgettable experience.

The lodge is located approximately a 45-minute drive from Puyo and is situated on a hilltop surrounded by over 100 hectares of family-owned Ecuadorian rainforest. You can plan about 6 hours for the journey from Quito airport to the jungle lodge. The trip to Puyo is 5 hours. You can reach the nearest grocery store in 15 minutes by car, supermarkets and farmer’s markets can be found in Puyo. Activities: The landscape around the lodge offers numerous opportunities for a real adventure-packed holiday. Explore the Ecuadorian rainforest via our private hiking trails, where you can observe countless animals, insects, and fascinating flora! Take a detour to the nearby river and take a refreshing dip in the various small waterfalls. There are countless species of tropical birds that can be observed directly from your jungle lodge, or you may want to opt for a private tour of the nearby Wildlife Rescue Center and find out how monkeys and parrots are being rehabilitated to be released into the wild. We also offer various tours on site: - Jungle tours - Night walk - Excursion to Wildlife Rescue Center - River tour by pickup to indigenous villages The last 3 kilometers of the access road to the house are unpaved and we recommend that the drive should be done via an SUV. However, it is also possible to reach the house with a sedan or compact car, but please be advised that the drive will be a little bumpy. We also offer an optional shuttle service to/from the airport or to/from Puyo for a fee. You will never be far from someone who is ready to assist you and address your every need! We live just a 5-minute car ride down the road, and our parents/in-laws live very close by (about a 5 minute walk). We will be available to help you organize anything you need. Please note, since the house is located in the middle of the jungle, we cannot guarantee a stable internet connection and it may happen that the internet slows down in bad weather or sometimes goes down for a short time.
