Icod de los Vinos is located in the north of the island of Tenerife, where you can find the thousand-year-old Drago tree and a view of the Teide volcano. Agriculture is one of its main sources of production, with a predominance of banana plantations, vineyards and dry farming in the midlands and higher areas. The centre of the village has shopping centres, supermarkets, chemists, cafés and restaurants. Another great attraction of the area is the underground complex Cueva del Viento-Sobrado, with more than 17 kilometres of topography, the largest volcanic tunnel or tube in Europe and the third largest in the world. It was formed by lava flows from the Pico Viejo volcano, located next to the Teide. Near Icod is the Playa de San Marcos, a beach of black volcanic sand located a short distance from the town centre of Icod de los Vinos, in a bay sheltered from the winds. In the bay there is also a small fishing harbour, restaurants and shops. From Icod de los Vinos, the guest can choose walks to the mountains or to the natural black sand beaches of the island.
