El Mirador has been a restaurant before the building was converted to residential use by the former Belgium owner. The property stands on Rustic ground at the edge of the El Teide National Park. In further developing the private cosy space which is the Apartment a supplier of quality former hotel furnishings has used in acquiring décor. The facility suits those who want to self cater or if you prefer someone else to do the cooking traditional economical cuisine is close by.

Michael lives between the UK and Vilaflor and although wider travel is undertaken likes to spend quiet time at the Villa. Whilst I am not in residence my Agent Cesar is close by running Bar Tito just a couple of hundred metres away. Cesar runs what is the main local community focus point where the locals gather and one can experience something of real Canarian lifestyle. Cesar runs the Bar from around 12:30 every day until closing. There is always improvement that can be contemplated and undertaken and several projects are in mind for the grounds including a swimming pool. The local wildlife is encouraged and there is space to develop Bee Hives to this end. I love to bask in the Cool Clear Mountain Air walking and cycling the money routes accessible. For those who are serious about altitude training in the Sun you will find many cyclists training in the area.

There is much to see and the best sights are accessed on foot. The apartment is well located for those who also wish to cover other parts of the Island including Puerto De La Cruz and the Masca Valley. It's the first thing you see as your plane descends towards Tenerife, after the long flight over the grey-blue Atlantic - a ring of thick cloud hiding the island below, and poking through it, like the spire of some great natural cathedral, the peak of Mount Teide. Most people have come for spring sunshine, for cheap beer and serious sun-lounger time down on the warm coast. Most will only see the top of Teide again on the way out. Tenerife is one of the world's best road cycling destinations. It's the largest of the Canary islands and, just off the African coast, offers a reliably warm climate year-around and fantastic climbing on smooth roads. try it if you dare!
