Batet de la Serra is in the Garrotxa National Park. Surrounded by countryside but only a short distance from Olot town. Besalú, in the province of Girona, is a monumental example of the Catalan Middle Ages. Highlights are Besalú's El Miqvé, or ritual bathhouse and the majestic Romanesque bridge over the Fluvià river. Santa Pau. The village has conserved the very interesting old part, with its distinctive look and medieval characteristics. Highlights include Plaça Major or Firal dels Bous: an arcaded main square of undeniable character with an irregular shape and uneven arches that is laid out around the castle, a large, compact and robust building that stands on the village's highest point.
