We are delighted to introduce ourselves as the owners of The Courtyard in El Escobar. We moved to Spain in July 2023 and, after a year of settling in and getting our property ready, we are now opening our doors to guests. Although life in Spain is very new to us, we do have previous hospitality experience having run a successful B&B in Torquay for 4 seasons from 2018 to 2022. As with many ex-pats, our main motivations for the move from the UK were the better weather and more laid back way of life. We wanted to create a property for family and friends to visit and for guests to feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed. We have a passion for providing excellent customer service and we look forward to welcoming you very soon. We love the outdoor social life as well as eating at different restaurants, finding new places to visit in Murcia and enjoying beach days at Puerto de Mazarron and La Manga. We are planning to take Spanish lessons in September to integrate further and possibly golf lessons in nearby Hacienda del Alamo. We think there are lots of reasons for guests to stay with us, including golf, cycling, walking, hiking, exploring the Region of Murcia for leisure or a property search or just wanting to escape the hustle and bustle in a quiet, traditional Spanish village. At The Courtyard, we offer guests 4 studio apartments all with their own bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Outside each apartment there is a table and chairs overlooking the communal pool. All the apartments have been recently repainted and refurbished with new fixtures and fittings throughout. Bedrooms - The beds can be tailored to suit your needs either 1 x King or 2 x Singles. Each bedroom comes fully furnished with a modern wardrobe, table and chairs and bedside cabinets with lamps. For your comfort and relaxation, there is a wall-mounted flat-screen Smart TV as well as air-conditioning and remote control ceiling fan. From a practical point of view, we have also added a full length mirror and USB charging port. Kitchens - All kitchens come fully equipped with a fridge, including freezer section, 2 hob burner, microwave oven/grill, kettle, toaster and full range of cutlery, crockery, glasses and utensils. There will be a complimentary bottle of wine, water and milk in your fridge on arrival as well as stocked tea, coffee and sugar caddies. Bathrooms - All bathrooms come with a shower, toilet, vanity unit with power outlet and extractor fan. Bath and hand towels, shampoo, body wash and hand soap are all provided. Communal areas - We have additional communal facilities for our guests to use and enjoy. These include access to a swimming pool with shower and toilet facilities, terrace areas around the pool and upstairs with additional seating, sun loungers, a plancher for barbecuing and a washing machine for longer stays.

We are situated in the small traditional Spanish village of El Escobar in the Region of Murcia. There is 1 bar but no shops in El Escobar, however the village is within easy driving distance of day to day facilities, golf courses and an airport and very well placed to explore what Murcia has to offer. The town of Fuente Alamo is just a 10 minute drive and offers supermarkets, shops, banks, restaurants, bars, petrol stations, a gym, medical centres and pharmacies. The town of Corvera is also 10 minutes away and offers a reduced selection of the facilities above but crucially is home to the Murcia International Airport (RMU), which is a 15 minute drive from us. The nearest golf course is Hacienda del Alamo just 6km away and there are multiple other courses within 20km. We are less than 5 minute's drive from the RM-2, which provides excellent communication links to local towns and cities, including Murcia, Cartagena, Alhama de Murcia, Puerto de Mazarron and La Manga. All these places of interest are within a 30 minute drive from El Escobar making this a perfect location to explore the Region of Murcia whilst enjoying accommodation in a peaceful rural setting. Murcia and Cartagena are fascinating cities to visit. As the Regional capital, Murcia offers a cathedral, amazing architecture, beautiful plazas and lots of restaurants and bars. There is also a zoo and seasonal water park. Cartagena has a history dating back to the Romans and the amphitheatre is a well preserved example of that. It has also been a significant naval port and there are various museums celebrating its historical importance. The port now often welcomes cruise ships and all visitors can enjoy a range of modern bars and restaurants on the front or venture further into the pedestrianised streets and squares for Spanish tapas. For a day at the beach we recommend either Puerto de Mazarron or La Manga, the 21km tourist "strip" that separates the Mediterranean Sea from the saltwater lagoon Mar Menor.
