Welcome to our cozy lakeside cottage with private sauna on the Arctic Circle, a warm retreat where Nordic simplicity meets soulful comfort. Set on 2.7 ha of private land with direct access to Lake Miekojärvi, it’s the perfect place to slow down, reconnect, and feel again. Our 80 m² cottage includes two bedrooms (160cm and 140cm), an open loft sleeping space upstairs (2 beds each 120cm) a cozy reading corner, one bathroom, and a separate shower room with an electric sauna, from which you can step directly out onto our spacious terrace. It comfortably accommodates up to six adults. Open living areas with a fully equipped kitchen invite you to cook, relax, and take in the lake views, while the private sauna and terrace offer the perfect place to unwind after a day outdoors. Guests can enjoy fire pits on the property, take our 6 sleighs for a ride in the snow, swim under the midnight sun, or watch the Northern Lights dance above the lake in winter, all far from city lights. The large wooden terrace and private jetty are perfect for yoga, morning coffee, or a refreshing dip after sauna. For those who enjoy a hands-on workout, wood chopping is always an option. :-) Practical amenities include a car heating station for winter and plenty of space to roam in peace. The closest village shop is just 10 minutes away in Lankojärvi, while more services such as gas stations, ATMs, and supermarkets can be found in Pello, 25 minutes away. Rovaniemi Airport and Santa Claus Village are 1 hour away, Ylläs Ski Resort (with more than 60 slopes) is 1 hour 40 minutes away, and the Snow Hotel is within 40 minutes. Dog sledding experiences are only 20 minutes from your door. Whether it’s starry winter nights or endless summer days, this cottage offers an authentic Lapland experience, combining comfort, nature, and stillness in one unforgettable stay. Come north. We are Joakim from Sweden and Jenny from Germany. We fell in love with the stillness and beauty of Arctic Finland, and we’re excited to share our cottage, and a little piece of that magic, with guests from around the world.

The area offers wonderful hiking opportunities, such as the striking Triangle Beach (Orhinselänniemi), a sandy stretch that extends from the forest out into Lake Miekojärvi. For panoramic views over the lake and surrounding wilderness, you can hike up to Pieskänjupukka. Another highlight is Eero's Trail in Pallistajavaara , the former training ground of the village’s own Olympic gold medalist in ski cross, Eero Mäntyranta. This trails lead you across a scenic boulder ridge with sweeping views, and even a traditional tipi along the way, perfect for a barbecue break.
