We fell in love with centrally located Käylä village some years ago ourselves, our cottage is 3km away from the apartment. We stay often is similar accommodations all over Nordics so put my best effort with eco friendly circular economy to make this place a place that I would myself want to stay in for a holiday or digital nomading. Welcome to the wilderness village of Käylä nestled next to waterways and national parks.

Accomodation places you in a hotspot where you can easily stay for longer. Oulanka national park is right next door. You can easily visit Riisitunturi, Salla, Hossa and Korouma national parks on the same journey. Oulanka is famous for its canyon river and roaring rapids that are a sight to see even in the winter. You can hike all year round, ski in the winter and canoe in the summer. Riisitunturi offers views over the Kitka lake towards Ruka ski center and is the top destination for snow crown trees in the winter. Kitka river, which the apartment overlooks, offers white water rafting that departs just 500 meters from the apartment. It's also a top notch fishing river with gravel road access to many spots - that are also great for biking in the summer & autumn. Grocery store is just a few minutes walk away as is the petrol station. During Christmas time the rapid park about 500 meters from the apartment is lit by hundreds of ice lanterns as are the whole village roadsides. In the summer there are traditional logger rapid shows every weekend, a logging competition and festival, where one can try their own skills. Also traditional live music dances are held by the nearby Korpihovi with karaoke option - from June to Septmember. You won't run out of things to do but you can also relax in the quietness that the apartment and the nature offers.
