Koivuranta coliday cottages is a family business that has been operating since 1934. Currently, we – Virpi and Antti Häkkinen – run the place. We have been entrepreneurs at Koivuranta farm for over 30 years. Originally, the farm was founded by Antti's grandparents in 1934. As a small family business, we handle almost everything ourselves. In addition to us, our children, Susanna and Esa, are also involved in the operations. We offer eight high-quality lakeside cottages in Mikkeli's countryside. In addition to cottages we have a farm. At Koivuranta farm, we raise native Finnish cattle in Finnish countryside. Finnish cattle are well-suited to the country’s challenging climate, enhancing the milk and meat's quality. Our cows live on traditional forest pastures by the lake, just as they did back in the 1930s. Today, our cows live with their calves, which receive nourishment directly from their mothers. The cows have outdoor access year-round. We combine milk from our native Finnish cows with berries from our own forests and nearby farms to create delicious ice cream and cheeses. Koivuranta’s ice creams are made with respect for Finnish nature and flavors. We also produce soft and grill cheeses, all handmade. We also offer Finnish cattle beef products. Breakfast baskets or dinner baskets with local delicacies can be delivered to the cottages.

Unique cottage Kotkanpesä is the most different from the other cottages due to the surrounding environment by the lake. The unique cottage and two separate sauna-buildings are built on top of a gorgeous platform structure that lays on a cliff. The rocky stairs and the height dirrerences create a special luxurious feeling to the cottage itself. There is a bedroom with a double bed downstairs, and three separate beds in an open space upstairs. During summer there is a small separate cabin building for two. There are also a combined kitchen and living room, and a bathroom with shower in the ground floor of the cottage. There is amazing lakeview from the windows of the cottage, especially in the upstairs. There is a fireplace on the living room. If you love sauna, there are two diffent wooden saunas to try. The sun shines on the yard almost all day. There are no neighbors near the cottage, so you can really enjoy your own peace.
