The tourism business was started in 1967 by renting summer cottages. Over the years, Lehmonkärki has been turned into a holiday, training and party centre that is open all year round. Lehmonkärki Resort is located at the shore of Lake Päijänne in the milieu of the beautiful Päijänne National Park. The Kelvenne Island is the most well-known and the most popular ridge island on southern Lake Päijänne. You can get by boat to the southern tip of Kelvenne Island in fifteen minutes by boat or by ship from Lehmonkärki in the summer time. You can spend a day at the island hiking the guided paths and having lunch at an open fire. You can also buy a picnic basket to take with you from our summer café. You can see the beauty of the National Park also without a boat at Pulkkilanharju (Pulkkila Ridge): there is a nature trail close to the Karisalmi Bridge showing how the ridge was born and what kind of wildlife you can find there. Pulkkilanharju is nine kilometers from Lehmonkärki Resort, and you can also get there by boat in 25 minutes.
