This property is a lovely two-bedroom apartment in Limoux with stunning views of the mountains and hills surrounding Limoux. It has a fully equipped kitchen, lounge with sofa bed, television, and WiFi in some rooms. The property is on the first-floor level with its own private entrance and outdoor terrace. I live in the main residence on the ground floor. Access to the shared pool which is situated at the front of the property is from 10am – 6pm. Contrary to what bookingcom say in the main description, this property does not have stunning views from the pool. I have requested the company to change this information, but they have declined my request. There is, however, stunning views from both the kitchen and the dining room/sitting room of the apartment. The pool is a 50metre tiled pool and does not have a shallow end. There are a selection of deck chairs and loungers around the pool, but again contrary to what the main listing says there is no spa. Parking is available in the driveway or on the quiet cul-de-sac just outside the gate. Plenty of space for bikes in lock up cellar or roofed garage. Towels and bed linen are provided. The apartment is a ten-minute walk from Place de la Republique, Limoux’s main square offering a selection of shops, bars, cafés and restaurants. The train station is a fifteen-minute walk, and you can catch a train or bus to Carcassonne. Maximum four people, no children or minors under 16. Small dogs allowed. Please understand that if you book for two people and turn up with extra people, there is a charge per night for each extra person. There is also a small charge for dogs per night.

I have been a host for eight years and thoroughly enjoy the experience. I am Irish and used to host in Wexford, Ireland. This is my first year hosting in Limoux, and I am very excited about exploring the area and then letting guests know what it has to offer. The environment and the great outdoors are really important for me. I love walking, hiking, swimming, yoga, gardening and cooking and of course, meeting new people.

The area is good for hiking and other outdoor activities and a great base for visiting vineyards. You'll find red, rosé, white and sparkling wines from Fitou, Corbières, Minervois, Clape, Quatourze, Cabardès, Malepère and of course,Limoux. The medieval La Cité of Carcassonne is a 25 minute drive. There are guided tours all year round. The Abbaye of St Hilare where the famoius Blanquette de Limoux was first made is only 15 mins away and the fabulous towns of Mirepoix and Rennes la Chateau are both half an hours drive.
